I don't know; I wasn't there, but I think too many young people underestimate their partner(s).
Too many parents aid and abet.
Too many witnesses bystand.
And in this case, it appears a couple well-intentioned Utah cops gave credence to words rather than deeds.
It cost Gabby her life, and who knows, perhaps with earlier intervention and proper psychiatry, Brian Laundrie's trajectory could have bounced in a non-murderous direction.
Hindsight's 20/20.
Here's hoping and praying and endeavoring that somehow, someday, we'll get a handle on ASPD and one of its earliest tell-tale symptoms: control. Or, more to the point, over-control.
