Having just seen The Old Man & the Gun starring Robert Redford, I can't help but think how similar these two films are: nice and slow. No special effects, no tremendous score, no nothin'. Just good ol' fashioned storytellin'.
Based on a true story, this is one whopper.
I think you'll like it if you're in a melancholy mood.
If, on the other hand, you're lookin' for sizzle on your steak, I'd suggest you eat elsewhere.
P.S. Yes, the acting is fantastic. It's not called 'acting' around these here parts; it's called being.
