Color me impressed!
I expected this to be a biased, liberal hatchet-job that would aim to smear and exaggerate, but Chastain's rather sympathetic portrayal left me with the very distinct impression her commitment was to be fair, not sensational.
I honestly didn't know much of the backstory, and hadn't really reflected on whatever came of Tammy Faye. In 2007, weighing just 65 pounds, she appeared on Larry King two days before she died. She'd battled colon and lung cancer for 11 years and died at the tender age of 65.
Incredible.
You can call her what you will, as everyone else has, but one thing you cannot call her is a quitter.
