I was not sure what this film was, or about.
Was kinda worried it'd be sacrilegious or too darkly comical, and while it starts out kinda bumpy, it makes a strong right-hand turn about 2/3rds of the way in and we actually get to see how fictional "Clarence" is made better while trying to emulate Christ.
So, in the end, not a bad lesson at all.
