I attended this with a huge crowd at the Denton Black Film Festival and while the film itself was brief, the Q&A afterward was phenomenal.
What a difference an engaged audience can make!
I remember seeing 2018's Bohemian Rhapsody followed by a Q&A and meet-and-greet with Rami Malek, and while perhaps three times as many people attended, the audience was so quiet you coulda heard a pin drop.
The first film experience was electric, in no small part because of our hosts.
Bohemian Rhapsody—a great film by any measure—was not nearly so meaningful to me, in large part because it lacked such emotional fervor and intellectual engagement throughout and after.
