Depraved and devastating. I've rarely felt so uncomfortable watching a film. It was too much, just way too much. I cannot handle masochistic sadism perpetrated upon children. Not in real life, and not on film.
If you want to read the plot, here it is.
Perhaps IndieWire's Susannah Gruder put it best when she described the film as "the most cunningly depraved horror film in years [that offers] a piercing commentary on the ways we accommodate others to the point of self-subjugation."
Self-subjugation indeed. My goodness. That's an understatement.
Hard pass.
