I saw it because the time worked out, nothing else, and MAN, AM I GLAD I DID!
I've honestly never even heard of this story, but it's incredible, uplifting, inspiring.
The tiny town of Possum Trot (in East Texas) feels convicted to help out and 22 families adopt 77 of the most-difficult-to-place children and teens in the county's foster care system.
Needless to say, trials, tribulations and travail follow, but so too do triumph and LIVES CHANGED.
Grown, the children are now owners, teachers, mechanics, managers of retail establishments and the like. In short, "contributing, upstanding members of society."
Restoration and redemption, shall we say, and NEW lives where there was once only hopelessness or survival rather than thriving.
A HUGE shoutout to actors Nika King, Diaana Babnicova, Demetrius Grosse and Elizabeth Mitchell. There is not ONE FALSE NOTE in their portrayals. I was blown away by their approaches and authenticity.
Praise God for great storytelling like this about stories that actually matter.
