Very ho-hum, and that's a bummer...cuz I was really looking forward to this one!
For a franchise with many conceits, inside jokes, and such 'meta-ness' as Scream, it was overly derivative (in a not-cool way) and, as the moviegoer beside me said after, "Too mellow; I expected more."
Yep. Same.
I really enjoyed Melissa Barrera in In the Heights, but she doesn't get much chance here to sparkle. Lousy lines.
Now, granted, none of this should discourage you from seeing it, just lower your expectations a tad.
