I didn’t enjoy Oppenheimer very much at all.
I was expecting A Beautiful Mind SCIENCE and NEW MEXICO MAGIC / OUTDOOR ETHOS, but it was wall-to-wall POLITICS, committee meetings, conspiracy theories, Board reviews, small-minded power plays, and fears of boogie-boo communist sympathizers.
Sheesh.
WHO CARES?!?
And Emily Blunt’s character, sure, true-to-life, I gather, but what a buzzkill! “Snap out of it,” I wanted to cajole!
I also longed for more representation from Japan’s POV, and New Mexicans downwind.
Finally, unlike virtually every other Nolan film, I didn’t hear a single song I’d download and listen to again in the car with the top down at 75 mph 😕.
Oh well, on to Barbie next!!
#Barbenheimer
p.s. Cinematography, Best & Supporting Actor(s) & Actress Oscar nominations are inevitable, and I agree with all that.
Mostly bummed about politics trumping science, as I can’t imagine caring less about anything than I do politics.
