I'm one of the few people who have been looking forward to this film for a long, long time.
With an abysmal 5.0 (out of 10) on IMDB, here's hoping I'm not as disappointed as I fear I may be...!
I believe they call this wishful thinking, but with Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Fantastic Beasts 2, Ambulance, and The Northman being April's tentpole cinematic releases, beggars cannot be choosers.
For the record, though, I do believe The Northman will be stellar. Robert Eggers' work is weird, but mostly wonderful, however dark it may be. The Witch was incredible, but The Lighthouse was unwatchable.
50/50?
I'll take those odds nearly any day of the week.
P.S. Saw it. Not terrible, not great, but very sloppy and mediocre, like everyone walked off the job about 73% of the way in and threw their hands up in despair. Lousy FX, choppy edits, and just plain sub-par. Very odd, especially with Leto attached. I'm unconvinced there will be a second installment, though stranger productions (like Venom) have lived to see another day!
That's Hollywood for ya. Cha-ching.
