Gerard Butler is reliable in the same way Jason Statham is: You get what you get what you get.
No surprises, so if you like Butler, you'll like most everything he's in—including Kandahar!
For that matter, the same goes for Norris, Van Damme, Seagal, Sly, Ah-nuld, and many of the other 'action' guys.
What you may NOT know, however, is that Butler is a romantic who can sing :-)
