Slaughtered by critics and rated 5.3 on IMDB's 10-point scale (!), Joker: Folie à Deux must be a trainwreck, right?
Hardly!
It may be the answer to a question no one asked (!), but it's executed with gusto and verve.
My only personal nit is that it features around 15 musical numbers when perhaps six would have sufficed.
Everything else, for me at least, works as designed/intended, so the roasting is probably a failure in expectation-management—nothing more, nothing less.
If you like musicals, give it a shot; if not, stay away. It's as simple as that.
