You're going to read lots of bad reviews about this one; mine is no such review.
For the first hour I was thinking to myself This may go down in history as one of the cleverest, most original witch in the woods films. For a very long spell, it was.
Eventually, though, three choices undo it:
1. Unnecessary gore.
2. Unnecessary noise and strobes.
3. An unsatisfying ending.
And so, unfortunately, we're left with a great film that almost was, but again, that does not detract one iota from its strong start. Kudos to that.
Far better to be visionary and fall short than blindly follow the usual lemmings into their predictable mediocrity.
