It's got a strong identity and a whole lotta heart, but I was disappointed that such an otherwise creative movie took place in one building. I kept waiting for it to move on already, but nope, that's pretty much the entire film: IRS building + laundromat. Said another way, "death and taxes."
I was also desperate to like or even care about Stephanie Hsu's character, Joy, but never got there, either.
Our theater's 'pre-show,' jam-packed with 30 minutes of AAPI trivia and cinematic history was awesome. THAT shoulda been the entire show!
