Before—
If this approximates, in the least, Jon Krakauer's classic Into Thin Air, then Houston, we have a winner.
I hear good things, and it's certainly brought an A-cast to bear on the situation. Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh Brolin are not known for playin' around. It should be serious fare.
I pray it is not the sort of thing that could have starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or Vin Diesel: an FX spectacle that is big on action, small on story.
After—
We've seen it now, yes. It's very good, not "great," but very good indeed. Intense, and rich on detail. When it kicks in, it kicks in hard and fast. I enjoyed it immensely. Dawn, Lauren, and one of Lauren's friends saw it together—it's entirely family friendly, and yes, definitely "a drama," not "a Rock-Diesel action movie." Hooray! It tracks closely with Krakauer's account of the events on May 10, 1996. Harrowing.
