You know it's a desperate First World situation when Escape Room is the best of what's left. Welcome to the dearth that is "January-February pre-Oscar season."
Nada, zilch, zippo, diddly-squat at the theaters.
Anyhoo, dragged my weary bones to Escape Room and was *mildly* pleasantly surprised. It did not suck quite as hard as I anticipated. It was, in fact, quite well done (Sony/Columbia Pictures budget...high production value) and somewhat clever.
Sequels abound, in a Saw sorta way. [He said ironically.]
With The Upside (a comedic remake of The Intouchables) and A Dog's Way Home being next week's grand releases, welp, it's gonna suck for quite a while around here. Stay tuned for more Netflix reviews, or maybe 2 cents on the latest books and podcasts.
I know you're excited, too; don't try and hide it.
