The chatter in our theater afterward amounted to boring, flat, lacked character development, much ado about nothing—and I'm afraid I agree with the movie nerds on this one.
I was SO excited about this film, because Denis Villeneuve does tremendous work (Sicario, Arrival), but here the grand scale, massive number of tiny-headed soldiers filmed from afar, emotionless sand worms, and ofttimes inscrutable characters distracted from my desire to actually care about anyone in the film.
A huge miss if you ask me.
But what do I know? It's just one man's opinion.
