An interesting idea poorly executed.
I have long wondered the psychological effects—the true effects—of beauty on one's own self.
Unfortunately, Chasing Beauty is superficial and mostly revolves around the professional modeling world, so if you're wanting something richer than skin deep, you'll have to look elsewhere.
Wouldn't you love to read a longitudinal study that follows [not identical] twins, one stunning, the other plain, and see how (all other factors being controlled for and equal) beauty benefits, hinders, and impacts an individual's life? In what ways it advantages, disadvantages, or shapes psyche? Especially as time ravages the rose, diminishing one's beauty?
I'm sure that study exists, and is fascinating. Perhaps one day I'll hunt just a little bit harder to find it.
If you find it, please send it my way. I'd love to read it!
