Unbearable, which is too bad, 'cause I love me some Thomas "Bane" Hardy!
The fatal error here is horrific prosthetics + suffocating acting. "Chewing the scenery."
ACTING ACTING ACTING is just terribly annoying, and that's all we get, versus, say, being seduced. Hardy can cast a spell when he's really on, but here the maddening amount of fakery and make-up requires so much acting that he cannot be seen for the true soul he is, and therefore he's just another obnoxious pantomime.
A true disservice to the story's potential.
