Hard to believe it's got a 3.0 on IMDB! Ouch! (That's worse than Selena Gomez's 2013 debacle, Getaway, which was thrown-tomatoes territory. Gah that movie was a disaster.)
But I actually kinda enjoyed Black Christmas ;-) It felt like summer repertory theater.
Most disorienting thing about it? Having been filmed here, in New Zealand, the architecture threw me off a lot. Everything looked completely unfamiliar, including some of the cars and faux license plates. I kept wondering, "Where in Canada is this?!?"
Goes to show what I know.
Lastly, I just wanna say Black Christmas stars one of my favorite-named actresses: Imogen Poots. I love her name cuz it's a sentence, and a giggly one at that.
Anyhoo, having performed 47 roles now, she's a busy little bee, not just a pooter.
Check Black Christmas out if you dare, but hustle-up, 'cause it'll be gone by next Friday when Star Wars comes to town and gobbles up every single auditorium in every theater in North America.
