I asked folks beforehand at the theater whether it was any good and they said everyone was raving, so I gave it a chance.
Glad I did.
Sure, the first half is seedy, but the acting is top notch and the second half feels like a completely different film.
Not sure whether I'm recommending it or not, but if you like Sean Baker, give it a shot!
Mikey Madison (whom I'd only known as "Sadie" in Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and "Amber" in Scream 2022) delivers a performance that feels really authentic.
