It's rather good, and yes, I did enjoy it a lot, but there were five instances where I found it so implausible that it strained credulity. Had I been in a jollier mood I might have guffawed obnoxiously. (Creative contrivances for the sake of dramatic effect, when the story is sufficiently dramatic all by itself. No need to have soldiers do things they'd never actually do so that we can watch them stare into the distance whilst being shot at or racing against precious, waning time.)
Anyhoo, I shall see it again, so there's that.
Oh, and yes, the long-shot cinematography is very Revenant. That, by the way, is a compliment. Both films are absolutely gorgeous to watch. I shall remember each for a very, very long time.
